Cup, M-1908.
Similar to the M-1906, this wasn't experimental.
That one made in 1910. "The M-1910 canteen and cup replaced it!" No. No, and no.
The M-1910 canteen was for Infantry. Signals didn't get them. Engineers didn't get them. Cavalry didn't get them. Artillery didn't get them.
Then, in 1912, some of the above did. So Cavalry and Artillery. Mounted. Engineers didn't. Hospital Corps didn't.
Then, in 1914, the Hospital Corps basically took some of the Cavalry stuff as standard. Engineers? Signals? Nope.
With the Infantry and Mounted having new stuff, they would have turned in the old. To include these cups. Enough to take care of those still needing them. In FY14-15, they made 6,597 of these cups. 1,200 the previous year. So they soldiered on.
