M-1912 Pistol Cleaning Kit

Introduced shortly after the M-1911 pistol, the WW1 examples had wooden blocks and brass rods. Also the cans inside. The WW2 edition dispensed with the wood and brass bits in favor of steel. The middle kit is one of the Climax kits. These were cases ordered early in WW2. Inside the guts were similar to the WW1 kits in that they have wood. They're unique as each piece inside has a drawing number. I believe these were ordered to rebuild incomplete WW1 kits. I further believe that nobody left on earth knows what the cans and rods were for those. Myself, I suspect it was a mix of left-over WW1 stuff from rebuilds and new stuff to make them complete. The Climax cases are unique in that they have the US in the circle raised instead of lowered. They're also marked "Climax," something the normal WW2 kits don't have. A maker's mark.
Everything in the Climax kits was marked.
