Patents can be a funny thing. You have to read them to see what is actually patented.
Mann's cartridge box. Not only did he have a patent on it, the patent was re-issued. Was it patented?
The reissue is more extensive than the patent itself regards claims. Regardless, note the title of the patent. "Improved Mode of Slinging Accouterments."
The box itself isn't patented. The method of slinging it is.
